The company was sold by Stan Postorino, who has owned it since 1982. Stan’s father, Ernest Postorino, established Postorino Decorating in 1946. Stan joined the company in the 1970s.

Postorino Decorating, located at 1101 Mound Ave. in Racine, is a commercial painting, drywall, acoustical ceiling and concrete finishing provider. It works with contractors in southeastern Wisconsin, including as a subcontractor on the first Foxconn Technology Group building in Racine. It also assisted on the renovation of the Snap-On Inc. headquarters in Kenosha and is currently working on interior and exterior projects for the Uline headquarters in Pleasant Prairie and the significant renovations at the S.C. Johnson & Son headquarters in Racine.

Copenharve worked at Uline from 2005 to this year, most recently as director of facilities and construction. He guided the company’s construction of its new headquarters and its other area building projects.

Stan Postorino, who was president and chief executive officer, will stay on in a consulting role as the company transitions to new ownership. Operations are not expected to change, and Postorino Decorating’s 50 employees are to be retained in the transaction. Copenharve plans to expand the concrete finishing division and seek other areas of growth.

“I want to make a splash in other ways, but not to the daily operations,” Copenharve said. “We’re in the middle of a great construction boom in southeast Wisconsin, and I want Postorino Decorating Inc. to remain competitive in the market, continue to build relationships, and help develop talent in new and longstanding ways.”

“I know I’m leaving my family’s legacy in good, capable hands with Randy (Copenharve),” Postorino said. “His vision for moving forward and growing the business, while continuing that legacy, very much aligns with what I have always envisioned. Randy has spent years in construction and management, and I’m confident he is the best person to move Postorino Decorating Inc. forward.”
