Racine-based Johnson Outdoors Inc. has added a former president and chief executive officer of S.C. Johnson and Son Inc. to its board of directors.
The addition of William Perez expands the Johnson Outdoors’ board to nine members.

Perez was president and CEO of S.C. Johnson & Son from 1996 to 2004, leaving to take over as CEO of Nike. He also was president and CEO of chewing gum maker Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. from 2006 to 2008. He was a senior advisor at Greenhill & Co. from 2010 to 2017.
In 2017, Perez founded FamGen. The firm specializes in consulting family-owned businesses on a variety of matters from strategy and planning to growth and global expansion.
He is also currently on the boards of Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Johnson & Johnson and Whirlpool Corp.
