Forklift manufacturer to move operations from Pewaukee to New Berlin

New space nearly four times larger

New Bremen, Ohio-based Crown Equipment Corp., a worldwide manufacturer of forklifts, plans to move its Pewaukee operations to New Berlin.

The company recently purchased an 81,500-square-foot industrial building at 5150 S. Towne Dr. in New Berlin for $5.9 million. The building is significantly larger than the 26,000-square-foot space the company currently occupies at N16 W23120 Stone Ridge Drive in Pewaukee.

Chad Vande Zande and Jeff Hoffman of Cushman & Wakefield | Boerke, represented Crown in the transaction.

“We performed an extensive year-long search for Crown and with the Class A user market as tight as it is, we had to get creative,” Vande Zande said in a news release. “The 5150 building was not on the market for sale, but given Crown’s requirements and credibility we approached (STAG Industrial, which sold the property to Crown) and were able to strike a deal that worked for all parties.”

Crown officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

Founded in 1945, Crown manufactures a wide variety of electric and Internal Combustion lift trucks and components in 17 facilities throughout the world. The company employs more than 12,000 people worldwide.
