Jeff Fleming has been appointed chairman of the Centers for Independence board of directors, according to an announcement made on Monday.
The Centers for Independence is the parent company of the Milwaukee Center for Independence, a nonprofit organization that supports individuals and families with special needs in fostering greater independence.
Fleming, who has served as a director on the board for nearly four years, is president of Kingston Crossing, LLC, which specializes in communications. He is a point person for the City of Milwaukee’s communications on economic development.
Prior to leading Kingston Crossing, Fleming headed public relations divisions at two area advertising agencies. His career also includes time serving on the production staff of NBC Nightly News and reporting for WTMJ-TV.
At MCFI, Fleming is taking over for Timothy Voigtman, a partner and business lawyer at Foley & Lardner LLP, following Voigtman’s five years as board chairman.
