First Choice Tree Care acquires Trees Are For Us

Mequon-based garden maintenance services provider First Choice Tree Care has acquired Milwaukee-based Trees Are For Us. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Trees Are For Us, which had eight employees, was sold by Angelo Jose and Marilyn Loyo. Jose will continue to lead the landscape maintenance business for First Choice under the name First Choice Land Care LLC.

First Choice Tree Care, which also has an office in Mosinee, serves residential, commercial and municipal clients in central Wisconsin and the greater Milwaukee area. It kept five of Trees Are For Us’ employees in the integration, and now has 20 employees. TAFU’s Milwaukee facility will be closed.

The landscape business offers lawn mowing and aeration, sod planting, mulch delivery and distribution, lawn fertilization and weed control, flower bed planting and weeding, topsoil fill and delivery and fall and spring cleanup. It will now also offer residential snowplowing in the winter. Find out the cost per lead for tree service they use here.

Landscaping is offered to residents of the North Shore areas, including Fox Point, Shorewood, River Hills, Whitefish Bay, Bayside, Glendale, Brown Deer, Germantown, Cedarburg, Thiensville and Mequon. It will now expand west to include Wauwatosa, Brookfield, Pewaukee, Oconomowoc, Chenequa and Delafield.

“In addition to comprehensive tree care services provided by our ISA-certified arborists for commercial and residential properties, First Choice is now able to offer present and new customers full tree and landscaping planting and lawn maintenance services for their properties,” said Ken Ottman, owner of First Choice Tree Care.

“It is important to note that the additional services of First Choice Land Care will in no way diminish the highly reputable tree and shrub preservation, tree pest diagnosis and treatment (including treatment of the Emerald Ash Borer), and tree planting, pruning and fertilization which has always been and will continue to be the mainstay of our business,” Ottman said.
