Jefferson Wells, a global provider of internal audit and controls, technology risk management, tax, and finance and accounting-related services, announced that Danny Shaw, CDP, PMP, HISP, has been promoted to global practice leader of the technology risk management practice. In this role, Shaw will be responsible for directing the development and management of Jefferson Wells’ global technology risk management practice. Shaw previously served as technology risk management director for the Atlanta office of Jefferson Wells.

Ritz, Holman, Butala, Fine LLP, a Milwaukee-based accounting firm, announced that Tricia Knight, CPA, partner and member of the firm’s tax team, has been awarded with the 2008 WICPA Public Service Award in recognition for her public service work at the local, regional and state levels. 
The Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants (WICPA) is the premier professional organization for Wisconsin CPAs, with more than 8,200 members working in public accounting, industry, government and education. The annual WICPA Presidents’ awards program is designed to recognize outstanding CPAs on the state level.  This year, recipients will be recognized at the WICPA CPAs in Industry Conference on Monday, March 31.

Kolb+Co. SC, Brookfield, recently hired Amy Penoske as an administrative associate.  Penoske, a resident of Oak Creek, is currently attending Milwaukee Area Technical College, where she will receive an administrative assistant degree.
