The 103-room Fairfield Inn & Suites hotel will open on Tuesday, May 21. The hotel is located in the 89-year-old Straus Building at 710 N. Old World Third St., formerly a Best Western hotel that is being converted to Fairfield Inn & Suites, which is a Marriott brand.
The hotel will be owned and managed by Warwick, R.I.-based Magna Hospitality Group. Rates at the hotel begin at $109 a night.

The hotel is one of several new hotels that have opened or will open soon in the downtown Milwaukee area. The Hilton Garden Inn opened last year in the Loyalty Building northwest of Broadway and Michigan St. The 90-room Brewhouse Inn & Suites opened recently at the former Pabst brewery complex.
