EVO CNG opens Oak Creek compressed natural gas station

EVO CNG and joint venture partner Trillium CNG have opened a new compressed natural gas fueling station at 7155 S. First St. in oak Creek. It is the largest CNG station in the state.

This is the EVO and Trillium’s first fueling station in Wisconsin. It provides compressed natural gas for the commercial trucking industry.

EVO and Trillium formed a joint venture in 2013 to build a nationwide CNG station network for the heavy-duty commercial trucking industry.

The station is open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and offers Trillium’s specialized fast-fill technology at its four dispensers.

Waterloo-based Sheehy Mail Contractors is the station’s anchor tenant. It operates 10 Freightliner Cascadia tractors with Cummins-Westport ISX G engines, and is planning to put more vehicles on the road this summer.

“EVO CNG is extremely excited for the opportunity to work with Sheehy Mail as they move into the clean fuel arena,” said Danny Cuzick, president of EVO CNG. “We look forward to the future growth of clean natural gas stations providing Sheehy Mail to demonstrate their leadership as they expand their green fleet. EVO CNG is proud to partner with Trillium CNG in the development of these stations.”

Gov. Scott Walker attended a grand opening for the station this morning.

“It’s exciting to be here today to welcome the first EVO CNG and Trillium CNG fueling station to Wisconsin,” Walker said. “Over the last three and a half years, we’ve worked tirelessly to create a business friendly environment that will encourage companies like EVO CNG and Trillium CNG to invest in our state. I’m proud to be here today with Wisconsin’s newest job creator.”
