Wisconsin was well represented in The Manufacturing Institute’s Women in Manufacturing STEP Ahead awards with eight of the 130 recipients working in the state.
The awards are intended to honor women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in their careers. The awards are part of the larger STEP Ahead initiative that seeks to examine and promote the role of women in manufacturing through recognition, research and leadership.
“These 130 women are the faces of exciting careers in manufacturing,” said Jennifer McNelly, The Manufacturing Institute executive director. “We chose to honor these women because they each made significant achievements in manufacturing through positive impact on their company and the industry as a whole.”
The Wisconsin winners included
- Teri Blumenthal, Rockwell Automation, plant manager, Ladysmith
- Jezabel Cardenas, Rockwell Automation, environmental health and safety manager, Milwaukee
- Zoe Jin, Johnson Controls Power Solutions, manager modeling, Glendale
- Michelle Piening, Modine Manufacuturing, regional Modine operating system manager, Racine
- Tchernavia Rocker, Harley-Davidson Motor Company, general manager for human resources, Wauwatosa
- Elizabeth Rolinski, Johnson Controls Power Solutions, vice president manufacturing engineering, Milwaukee
- Jennifer Wick, Caterpillar, lead human resources manager, Oak Creek
- Samantha Ruof, Procter & Gamble, converting operating department leader, Green Bay (won as an emerging leader)
The Manufacturing Institute will recognize the recipients at an April 21 reception in Washington D.C.
