Ireland-based diversified industrial manufacturer
Eaton Corp. is planning a $24 million, 233,000-square-foot expansion of its Eaton Power Systems facility in Waukesha, which the company says will allow it to increase production of regulators and transformers, improve production efficiencies and reduce costs.
The facility to be expanded is located at 2300 N. Badger Drive. Groundbreaking is slated for this fall.
The investment will enable Eaton to increase volume and better meet the growing needs of customers in the utility markets, according to a news release.
With this expansion, Eaton will be consolidating operations from its other locations on North Street in Waukesha and on Hickory Street in Pewaukee. The two facilities will be closed and sold. Employees from both locations will move to the expanded Badger Drive facility.
The expansion will eliminate about 30 positions. Impacted employees will receive a severance package and will be invited to reapply for another position at Eaton. Company spokeswoman Jackie Pride said Eaton consistently has about 40 job openings in Waukesha.
Eaton employees about 93,000 people, and does business in 175 countries. Its 2019 revenues were $21.4 billion. It is based in Ireland, and has operational headquarters in
Beachwood, Ohio.
