Designer shoe warehouse DSW Inc. will open its fourth Milwaukee-area location with a 17,350-square-foot store at Calhoun Crossing in Brookfield.
Columbus, Ohio-based DSW will begin its interior build-out in late summer 2016, with a planned opening in spring 2017. The store will co-anchor the shopping center project with Fresh Thyme Farmers Market.
“DSW has consistently attracted customers and been integral to the success of our Mayfair Collection shopping center in nearby Wauwatosa, and we fully expect they will help make Calhoun Crossing a popular shopping destination as well,” said Tim Blum, executive vice president of retail development at HSA Commercial.
The existing shopping center at the northwest corner of Bluemound Road and Calhoun Road, which was previously called Plaza 173, will be completely gut renovated.
The development will also include an 11,000-square-foot outlot building that will be occupied by Men’s Wearhouse, Kesslers Diamond Center and a third small shop tenant.
Chris Thomas of TOA Architecture and Urban Design is the project’s architect, and Premier Design + Build is the development’s general contractor.
Calhoun Crossing is owned by a joint real estate fund formed by Innovative Capital Advisors and HSA Commercial Real Estate.
