Downtown Racine Corp. names its “Barrel Boys”

The Downtown Racine Corp. commissioned the construction of a series of statues made out of orange construction barrels to remind people that all of the stores are open for business and to encourage people to shop on Sixth Street during construction.

Each sculpture stands nine feet tall. In conjunction with the installation of the Barrel Boy statues, the DRC hosted a contest to name the sculptures.

The winning name, which will replace Barrel Boys, is The Three Constructioneers, which was submitted by Cameron Fair of Racine.  In addition, Sherri Myers of Racine submitted winning individual names for each sculpture: Cautious Clay, Monument Ali, and Gorge Foreman.
