Devon Seafood + Steak at Bayshore in Glendale has permanently shut its doors.
The restaurant announced the closure via social media on Tuesday, citing challenges such as high rent and increased operating cost.
“Making the decision to close a restaurant is always the last option,” it said in a Facebook post, adding it’s “doing everything possible to minimize the impact to affected team members.”
The business is referring its employees to competing restaurants in the area.
Devon is owned by Kansas City-based Houlihan’s Restaurants Inc. and has four other locations, in Hershey and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Kendall, Florida; and Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.
Its Bayshore location closes as the shopping center embarks on a multi-million dollar project aimed at redeveloping the property.
As part of that project, which is slated for a late 2020 completion, Bayshore Town Center was formally renamed as “Bayshore.” Generally speaking, it will downsize the mall’s retail space and demolish or convert existing buildings for other uses
