An Illinois developer is proposing to build 160 apartment units on the southern side of downtown Kenosha.
The apartments would be developed in two separate projects: the 101-unit Simmons Terrace at 5939 7th Ave., and the 59-unit Theater Terrace at 5929 6th Ave., according to city documents.
The development sites are across 6th Avenue from one another, located north of 60th Street and just east of Library Park.
Gilberts, Illinois-based Woodview Group LLC is the project developer.
Woodview Group is led by Mark Ebacher, president and manager of
Interstate Partners LLC's Illinois office. He did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Ebacher is also developing the
Lake Terrace apartments in downtown Kenosha, southeast of Fifth Avenue and 59th Street.
Milwaukee-based Steven Perry Smith Architects Inc. is the project designer for Simmons Terrace and Theater Terrace.
Simmons Terrace would be five stories tall and total 173,421 square feet. It would have one level of underground parking, plus more parking and a leasing office on the first floor.
Theater Terrace, meanwhile, would stand four stories tall and total 81,987 square feet. The first floor would similarly have interior parking, a leasing office and community space.
Both buildings would contain a mix of studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units.
Amenities for both buildings include a fitness room, community room and second-floor outdoor terrace.

Two buildings would be razed to make way for Simmons Terrace, including a BMO Harris Bank branch and a smaller commercial building. A small apartment building would be demolished for Theater Terrace.
Woodview Group will present conceptual plans for both apartment projects to the city's Plan Commission on Thursday evening. The commission will only review the plans and provide feedback, and won't take a formal vote.
