Dan Kempken, A. O. Smith’s current vice president and controller, has been promoted to senior vice president, corporate development and strategy.
In his new role, Kempken will be responsible for partnering with the executive team to identify and define corporate strategic initiatives globally, as well as overseeing the company’s merger, acquisition, divestiture, and joint venture activities. Kempken, who joined A. O. Smith in 2011, earned a bachelor’s of administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1995, and an MBA from Marquette University in 2017. He is also a certified public accountant.
