Milwaukee’s Bay View neighborhood this summer will become home to another pizza joint.

RedBrick Pizza, a Dallas-based fast-casual Italian concept, has plans in the works to open a new franchise location in a commercial space at the new Vue Apartments building at 2202 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.

The company is listed on a commercial alteration permit application recently submitted to the City of Milwaukee, and a company representative confirmed the plans. He said construction on the space is currently underway and the concept will likely open its doors by late summer.

RedBrick Pizza will occupy 2,336 square feet, according to the application.

Matt Mehring of New Berlin-based Anderson Ashton is listed as the project’s general contractor. Mehring was not immediately available for comment.

RedBrick serves specialty and build-your-own fire-roasted gourmet pizzas as well as salads and Italian flatbread sandwiches, called Fhazanis. Its pizzas are baked at 1,000 degrees in a custom brick oven.

The Bay View restaurant would be the company’s first Wisconsin location, but the first of multiple franchise locations in the works for Wisconsin, said the representative. The company currently operates seven franchise locations in California, Texas, Alabama, Florida, Kentucky and New Jersey.

RedBrick will join several pizza restaurants in the area, including Classic Slice, Transfer Pizzeria & Cafe, Toppers Pizza and Pietro’s Pizza.
