Construction begins for $40 million condo development in Greenfield

Ener-Con Companies Inc. held a groundbreaking ceremony last week to celebrate the start of construction of a $40 million condo development along South 110th Street, south of Coldspring Road in Greenfield.

Construction has begun on the first of the six-building development, called Greenfield Highlands Condos. Each three-story building will have 30 condos. Prices for the condos range from $164,900 to $259,900. The units range from 1-bedroom 935-square-foot condos to 2-bedroom 1,548-square-foot condos.

Greenfield Highlands Condos will be a gated community. Amenities will include a clubhouse, pool and fitness area.

The first units are expected to be ready for occupancy in the fall.

The condos will be managed by Forest Green Realty & Management.

The project is one of the few new condo developments to break ground in the region since the Great Recession. In recent years, most multi-family housing developments in the region have been apartments.
