Conference to focus on impact of health care reform

BizTimes Media invites its readers to attend the Health Care Reform Roundtable to be held on Thursday, Aug. 16, at the Country Springs Hotel in Pewaukee.

The event will be presented by the Independent Insurance Agents of Wisconsin, in conjunction with the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.
The conference will begin with registration and breakfast at 7:30 a.m., followed by two panel discussions.
The first panel, which will be moderated by Karen Timberlake, director of the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, will focus on “Health Care Reform on the National Level.” Panelists will include: Catherine Jacobson, president of Froedtert Health; Gail Olsen, shareholder at Reinhart Boerner Van Dueren S.C.; Mike Derdzinski, director of employee benefits and life at Johnson Insurance; and a representative of the NFIB.
The second panel, which will be moderated by BizTimes executive editor Steve Jagler, will focus on “Health Care Reform on the State Level.” The panelists will include: Dan Schwartzer, deputy commissioner of the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance; Larry Schreiber, chief executive officer of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield; Steve Brenton, CEO of the Wisconsin Hospital Association; and Tom Wieland, partner at Reilly, Penner & Benton CPAs.
The event is supported by the Greater Milwaukee Committee, the Business Health Care Group and the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce.
