A panel of community leaders will discuss how nonprofits are collaborating to confront some of Milwaukee’s biggest challenges at BizTimes Media’s virtual Nonprofit Excellence Awards program on Nov. 6.
Panelists will include Greg Wesley, senior vice president of strategic alliances and business development at the Medical College of Wisconsin; Carrie Wall, president and CEO of YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee; Amy Lovell, co-founder of REDgen and a steering committee member of Scaling Wellness in Milwaukee (SWIM); and Anne Basting, founder and president of TimeSlips. BizTimes associate editor Lauren Anderson will moderate the discussion.
The Nonprofit Excellence Awards program will be held virtually from 7-9:30 a.m. Click here to register.
As the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated longstanding challenges in the community – including health disparities, social isolation among older adults, generational trauma and education inequities – the nonprofits working to confront those issues are also facing tightening budgets and disruptions to their own operations. Collaboration has become a necessity in order for nonprofits to move the needle toward a healthier and more equitable Milwaukee, industry leaders say.
The nonprofit leaders will discuss how they are forging new partnership and innovating during a challenging year to tackle big problems.
Following the panel discussion, finalists and honorees of BizTimes Media’s 2020 Nonprofit Excellence Awards will be recognized.
