Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, Milwaukee, has hired Christine E. Bestor Townsend in the firm’s Milwaukee office as an attorney in the Labor and Employment Relations Practice Group.
Townsend represents clients through all stages of employment litigation and has successfully obtained preliminary injunctions on behalf of clients in matters related to restrictive covenants and trade secrets. In addition to assisting clients in litigation, Townsend counsels clients on employment-related issues, such as personnel decisions, employment agreements, policies and intellectual property agreements.
Prior to joining Michael Best, Townsend practiced in the Labor and Employment group at a full-service firm in Des Moines, IA. She began her legal career as an intellectual property litigation attorney with a large national firm in Chicago, IL.
Townsend earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2009, where she served as President of the Virginia Law Women and received the National Association of Women Lawyers Outstanding Student Award. Townsend earned her B.A., summa cum laude, from Marquette University in 2006 and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Tau Delta and Pi Sigma Alpha honor societies.
