Pewaukee-based accounting firm Chortek & Gottschalk LLP has acquired Washington-based accounting firm Martin & Wall.
Martin & Wall has become a division of Chortek & Gottschalk, according to an announcement about the deal.
“We’ve found the perfect partner for integration,” said Chortek & Gottschalk managing partner Greg Junek. “Martin & Wall has the utmost expertise in the public sector, while G&C has built its reputation on 60 years of comprehensive audit and accounting work in the private sector.”
"We now have the 40-plus professionals from C&G, along with their firm’s comprehensive resources, to add value to our Washington clientele, including cutting edge technology," Dana Barooshian, a Chortek & Gottschalk principal who heads up the Washington, D.C. office said. "We’re excited that Martin & Wall will continue to offer our expertise in the Washington metropolitan area for federal agencies, charter schools and non-profits."
Martin & Wall was founded in 1994 and was awarded the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule 520 Financial and Business Solutions in 1998. The firm has conducted audits for the White House Travel Office, Panama Canal Commission and Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board.
Martin & Wall is also one of fewer than 20 firms on the D.C. Public Charter School Board "Approved Auditor List." The firm has conducted many charter school audits.
"The philosophy of both firms is so similar," said Andrew Martin, who along with Barooshian will continue to lead the Martin & Wall division of Chortek & Gottschalk. "C&G and Martin & Wall have been built on longstanding client relationships, which enjoy working with all the resources that our firms can bring to bear, with a fully integrated team."
