Chick-fil-A plans to open its fifth Wisconsin restaurant on Highway 100 in West Allis, and is also planning a second location in Brookfield, according to sources.

The Atlanta-based fast food chain is proposing a 4,876-square-foot stand-alone restaurant at the northwest corner of Highway 100 and Cleveland Avenue in the West Allis Shopping Center parking lot at 2563 S. 108th St.

Chick-fil-A continues to expand its presence in the Milwaukee area and is planning to build a restaurant in West Allis and a second location in Brookfield.

Currently, there are stand-alone Chick-fil-A restaurants in Brookfield, Greendale and Madison and stores under construction in Oak Creek’s Drexel Town Square and Mount Pleasant, both scheduled to open in March.

Chick-fil-A has a restaurant located inside of Regency Mall in Racine, which will close by the end of the month.

The West Allis planning and zoning committee will review site plans for the restaurant on Feb. 2.

West Allis Mayor Dan Devine said many  of his city’s residents drive to other communities to go eat at Chick-fil-A restaurants, so it will be nice to have the restaurant in West Allis.

“There has been a lot of general excitement about this addition,” Devine said. “A lot of people are fans of their chicken.”

Since entering the Wisconsin market with stand-alone restaurants in 2014, Chick-fil-A has been a success here with record-breaking sales. When the Chick-fil-A opened at 12625 W. Capitol Drive in Brookfield in September 2014, total sales for the first three days of business at the store broke company records, said City of Brookfield Mayor Steven Ponto.

Real estate sources say a second Chick-fil-A is planned in Brookfield, along the Blue Mound Road corridor. One source said an outlot in front of the former K-Mart, at 18200 W. Blue Mound Road in the Town of Brookfield, is where the store will be built.

Ponto would not confirm a second store is planned in Brookfield.

“I’ve heard rumblings, but nothing definite,” Ponto said. “We’re still early in the process. There are so many things happening this year, I would expect to know more in a couple of months. I would certainly be delighted to see another Chick-fil-A in Brookfield.”
