A Chicago-based logistics company is planning a two-phased project on a 67-acre parcel in Kenosha County that will total nearly 2 million square feet once completed.
This week, Logistics Property Company purchased the first 50 acres of land, just west of Interstate 94 and south of the Uline and Amazon facilities.
“We’re thrilled to get dirt moving at 94 Logistics Park,” said Aaron Martell, the company’s executive vice president of the Midwest Region. “There’s tremendous momentum in the region and we’re excited about capturing some of it. Users will definitely like our product and the amenity-driven location.”
A subsidiary of Logistics Property Company, LLC purchased 44.3 acres at 3902 128th Ave. in the city of Kenosha from J&L Drissel LLC for $5.7 million, a 2.3 acre property in the town of Paris at 12443 38th St. from the Marvin and Dolores Drissel Revocable Trust for $620,000 and a 1.8 acre property for $600,000 from Ronald Wallace, according to state records.
Phase one of 94 Logistics Park includes one, 750,000-square-foot facility targeting regional distributors including consumer products, e-commerce, and food users. It is expected to be completed by mid 2019.
The second building will be 288,000 square feet.
Phase two, which has not yet been approved by the city of Kenosha, could include 825,000 square feet of industrial speculative buildings.
Logistics Property Company, has developed more than 17 million square feet since 2014 with its institutional partners, according to its website. The company has offices in Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston and Los Angeles.
Clients include General Mills, Wayfair.com, Ryder, Johnson & Johnson, the United States Postal Service and Harbor Freight Tools.
