Custom Service Hardware, a Cedarburg-based distributor of home-improvement supplies and hardware kits, plans to move its operations to the village of Jackson.
CSH will purchase the 119,253-square-foot building located at N169 W21010 Meadow Lane, where it will occupy about 74,000 square feet, according to village documents. It will occupy portions of the building's office and industrial areas. The move represents an expansion for the company.
Its 59 employees will work out of the new location, which will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. CSH will maintain its current number of employees for at least the next couple years as they settle into their new location.
The remaining space will be occupied by an existing building tenant, Quality Stamping & Tube Corp., according to the documents.
The relocation plans require a conditional use permit, which will be considered on Thursday by the village's Plan Commission.
As part of the move, CSH plan to install a new HVAC system that will condition the industrial space. Construction work will begin in February and last roughly 60-90 days.
CSH did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
According to its website, the company supplies more than 50,000 products to builders, contractors, and homeowners globally. It was founded in 1977 by Frank Rasmussen, who made waterbeds in his Cedarburg barn and began making his own waterbed brackets when he couldn't get all the parts he needed.
