DNR bans fires statewide

A day after a wildfire consumed nearly 9,000 acres and 47 structures in Douglas County in northwestern Wisconsin, the Department of Natural Resources, in conjunction with the National Weather Service, has announced that a Red Flag Warning is in effect today in Florence and Marinette counties and the DNR suspended all burning permits throughout the state today.

Cold weather heats up Wisconsin Energy profits

Racine-based Twin Disc today announced fiscal third quarter net loss of $757,000, or 7 cents per share, compared with net earnings of $9.9 million, or 86 cents per share, in the same period a year ago.
