Carol Wessels has more than three decades of experience in the legal industry. As senior partner and owner of Mequon-based Wessels & Liebau LLC, she specializes in work with seniors, their families, and people with special needs.
Her clients have questions about long term care, Medicaid, family care, special needs trusts, Medicare and other benefits. Wessels takes pride in her ability to answer those questions and explain legal issues in a way that makes sense.
Wessels earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and earned her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

For Wessels, it’s personal too. Her mother, Velma lived with Alzheimer’s disease for 15 years. She knows what families are going through and is passionate about protecting the rights of elderly populations and their families.
She is a current board member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and is past chair and current board advisor of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys Wisconsin Chapter. She is also a board member of the Wisconsin chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and the chair of its Public Policy Committee.
