The Eisner Museum of Advertising and Design will host its fifth annual "I Love the Eisner" event on Friday Feb. 20, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. The museum will be transformed into a vacation in 50’s Cuba for the event. The event will feature Cuban music, casino gaming, cocktails, food, a costume contest, a silent auction and 250 square feet of Art will be highlighted at the event.
One of those featured art exhibits takes a look at 110 years of history of one of America’s oldest independently held marketing design firms, Cramer-Krasselt, that was founded in Milwaukee.
"The Eisner was gracious enough to give us this wall space to show the progression of where we started from and where we are today," said Mark Kuehn, vice president and creative director of Cramer-Krasselt. "The company was originally started by William Krasselt, a butcher shop supply salesman, and Frederick ‘Cody’ Cramer, a typesetter, as a small publication for bike enthusiasts. It later grew into its own advertising agency, first called the Pneumatic Press and later The Cramer-Krasselt Company."
The exhibit features photographs of some of the early work spaces of the company, as well as actual equipment and advertising pieces from through out the company’s history.
"It is interesting, the exhibit shows the progression of the C-K logo as well," Kuehn said. "Throughout the years we have experimented with different looks and interestingly we are back to the same original logo that was first used for the company."
The exhibit opened in December of this year and is scheduled to run through April, Kuehn said.
