Doyle appoints Stephanie Rothstein as Milwaukee Circuit Court judge
Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle recently appointed Stephanie Rothstein as a Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge.

Rothstein will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge John Franke. She will begin serving in March and will serve a term ending July 31, 2010.

"Stephanie Rothstein has been a devoted public servant throughout her 25 years in the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office," Doyle said. "I am confident that she will be a fair, thoughtful and committed judge."

"I am honored to have been selected by the governor to continue my service to the people of Milwaukee County," Rothstein said. "I intend to serve with integrity and fairness, always being mindful of the responsibility and duty of the court to do justice."

Rothstein has been an assistant district attorney in Milwaukee County since 1984. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Lawrence University in Appleton and her J.D. from Marquette University.

Rothstein has worked with several nonprofit and faith-based organizations in Milwaukee County. Stephanie and her husband, Gregory, live in Whitefish Bay with their children.

Provus will be Uecker’s new radio partner
Bob Uecker has another new broadcast partner. Newsradio 620-WTMJ, the Milwaukee Brewers Radio Network flagship station, and the Milwaukee Brewers announced today the hiring of Cory Provus as a radio play-by-play announcer and pre-game/post-game show host. Provus previously served the Cubs Radio Network and WGN Radio as their pre-game and post-game host, doing one inning of play-by-play each game.

Before working with the Cubs and WGN, he was the voice of the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s football, basketball and baseball teams while with International Sports Properties. He served as that company’s director of broadcast operations in Alabama.
