Goode is new president of Northwestern Mutual Foundation

Kimberley Goode, vice president of communications for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. Inc., will assume additional duties as president of the Northwestern Mutual Foundation.

The Milwaukee-based financial security company also is naming Deanna Tillisch, director of  corporate affairs, as foundation vice president, where she will manage the day-to-day operations of the organization.

"It is a privilege to have this opportunity to lead the Northwestern Mutual Foundation and continue its mission to inspire human potential," Goode said. "Through the foundation, Northwestern Mutual is capable of extending the company’s more than 150 years of strength and stability to help promote strong communities nationwide, which is more relevant today than ever."

The Northwestern Mutual Foundation contributed $19 million nationally in 2008. Notable contributions in 2009 include $500,000 to the American Red Cross to enhance its recovery and relief efforts in areas affected by natural disasters.
