Sale part of 15-property portfolio deal

The Brookdale Pleasant Prairie assisted living facility on 88th Avenue has been sold to an Ann Arbor, Michigan-based nonprofit group.

A subsidiary of American Eagle Lifecare Corp. purchased the nearly 4-acre property, located 7377 88th Ave., for just over $4 million, according to state records.

According to Kenosha County property records, the facility, which consists of three separate buildings totaling nearly 35,000 square feet, were built in 1997. The property was last assessed at $6.5 million.

Scott Kellman, chief executive officer of American Eagle Lifecare Corp., said the sale was part of a larger 15-property transaction. The Pleasant Prairie facility was the only Wisconsin property involved in that transaction.

Under new ownership, the name of the facility will be changed to Robin Way. Other than the name and potentially minor tweaks to community programs, “I don’t think we’re going to have any changes” to the facility, Kellman said.

American Eagle Lifecare Corp. primarily owns assisted living properties, but also has what Kellman called “life plan” communities, which are essentially retirement communities that include assisted living and skilled nursing services.

A spokesman for Brookdale declined to comment on the transaction.
