Brookfield-based Briohn Building Corp. is proposing to construct a roughly 301,300-square-foot industrial building on a vacant site along Lincoln Avenue in New Berlin.
According to plans filed with the city, the new building would be built at 18200 W. Lincoln Ave., just west of the city's industrial park. It could house operations such uses as light industrial, distribution and warehousing, and support offices.
The east side of the building would contain support offices, but the majority of the building would be for industrial purposes, according to the project plans. There would also be a surface lot to the west of the building with approximately 184 parking stalls.
No specific tenants were named, but the plans noted there would be six potential building entries to serve multiple tenants. Briohn did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The company projected the building would have 80 full-time employees, with two shifts working between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. Monday through Friday. There would be limited weekend work a few times throughout the year, the plans indicated.
New Berlin's Plan Commission is scheduled to consider the project on Tuesday, July 21.
Briohn noted in its filings it would ideally like to begin construction mid-September. The project is slated for review by the state in August. Briohn would look to submit building permit and engineering final reviews immediately after.
Briohn has been active in Waukesha County of late, including other projects in New Berlin. For instance, the company last fall put forward plans for a 192,800-square-foot industrial building at 16555 W. Small Road.
