Brain Brawn & Body recruiting new site spokesmen

Brain Brawn & Body, a website launched last February to act as an educational health resource for African American men, is seeking fresh faces to feature on its site as it approaches its one-year anniversary.

“The New Faces of Brain Brawn & Body” will display the photos and stories of African American men eager to drive more conversation around critical health issues facing their demographic, according to Eric Von, a former Milwaukee radio talk show host and the creator of the website.

“I want to engage more men in the conversation about health in a more public manner,” Von said. “It’s important for the public to know there is a critical conversation being held on health care across this country. We want to involve more people in this conversation and raise the level of discourse on those issues that impact African American men and their families.”

Along with addressing health and wellness issues pertinent to African American men, the site regularly generates content related to nutrition, education and finances.

Under “The New Faces of Brain Brawn & Body” initiative, Von also aims to hold a series of community health care events in the coming year.

Men interested in applying to become one of the “new faces” must submit a photo, a brief biographical sketch, and their health-related story in no more than 500 words to www.brainbrawnbody.com/newfaces by Friday, Jan. 31.

Eighteen individuals will be selected and announced on Thursday, Feb. 20.
