BMO Harris Bank announces donations in response to Oak Creek shooting

BMO Harris Bank will make three separate donations in support of diversity, inclusion and Milwaukee’s Sikh community.

The bank is donating $10,000 to the Act Now! Program of the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, which teaches students how to structure a positive school climate and engages students in discussions and activities focused on bullying in all forms. Act Now! prides itself on fostering understanding, respect, compassion and acceptance.
The bank is also opening an account for the Oak Creek Police Association that will specifically support Lieutenant Brian Murphy and his family as Murphy recovers from critical gunshot injuries following the Oak Creek shooting at the Sikh Temple Aug. 5. The bank will donate an additional $10,000 to the account, located at the M&I Branch at 8900 S. Howell Avenue in Oak Creek. All M&I and Harris branches will take donations for the account from the public.
The bank will make a third contribution of $10,000 to Oak Creek’s Sikh temple to further aid the Sikh community in the aftermath of the tragic shooting.
Donations to the temple can also be submitted at www.wearesikhs.com.
