BloodCenter offers donors State Fair tickets

BloodCenter of Wisconsin has an immediate need for O negative blood donations, and will provide a pair of Wisconsin State Fair tickets to each O negative individual who attempts to donate from today until July 16.

O negative blood is a universal type that anyone can receive. It is carried on Flight For Life and used by trauma centers and emergency rooms. Newborn babies and people in urgent need, with no time to determine blood type, are given O negative blood.

During the summer, particularly around holiday weekends, donations decrease.

BloodCenter, a nonprofit based in Milwaukee, also has locations in Brown Deer, Greenfield, Kenosha, Racine, Sheboygan, Waukesha, Wauwatosa and West Bend. Donors can make an appointment at www.bcw.edu/appt or by calling 1-877-BE-A-HERO.
