Bliffert Lumber merges with Midwest Millwork

Milwaukee-based Bliffert Lumber & Fuel Co. and Cudahy-based Midwest Millwork Inc. announced today that they completed a merger on June 1.

Midwest Millwork was founded in 1957 as a cabinet shop in St. Francis. It moved to its current Cudahy location in 1962, at 5318 S. Packard, and later acquired the Cudahy Lumber facility next door. The company grew to offer cabinets, doors, millwork, windows, hardware, plywood, framing lumber and a wide range of building materials.

Bliffert Lumber and Hardware was founded in 1904 and has supplied contractors and homeowners under five generations of family ownership. Midwest Millwork, which has eight employees, will continue operations under the Bliffert Lumber name. Bliffert now has eight locations in the Milwaukee area, and more than 125 employees.

“We are proud of our roots in the community and are grateful for our employees and customers,” said John Gargulak, president of Midwest Millwork. “We look forward to joining the Bliffert family of companies and being of continued service to our customers and the community.”
