BizTimes Nonprofit Weekly: Breast Cancer walk raises $500,000

This year’s Milwaukee Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, held on May 4 at Veterans Park, raised $500,000 toward the fight against breast cancer through the generosity of more than 7,000 walkers.

The walk, driven by the American Cancer Society in more than 270 communities across the country, builds awareness around breast cancer statistics, risk, prevention measures and treatment information and promotes continued research of the disease.
