BizTimes Media to launch Future 50 Facebook competition

BizTimes Media invites readers to participate in its inaugural Future 50 Most Social Company contest that will benefit one nonprofit organization in need in greater Milwaukee.

The contest is a new extension of the 2013 Future 50 Program, an annual awards program honoring 50 regional companies that have been operating for at least three years and have demonstrated significant growth in revenue and employment numbers.

Future 50 Awards are presented by the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce in partnership with sponsor Park Bank. BizTimes Media serves as the program’s media sponsor.

Under the guidelines of the Future 50 Most Social Company competition, organized by BizTimes Media, winning companies choosing to participate have selected a nonprofit organization to represent in a Facebook voting contest. Between Monday, Aug. 19, and Friday, Sept. 13, Facebook users will be able to cast one vote per day for participating companies.

The nonprofit organization connected to the company that receives the most votes during the contest will win a $1,000 cash prize from BizTimes Media. The organization will also be awarded an advertising package that includes a two-page spread in the 2013 edition of the BizTimes Nonprofit Giving Guide.

“We’re excited about the introduction of this component to the program,” said Dan Meyer, publisher of BizTimes Media. “There are so many worthy organizations in this community that help make this a vibrant community to live and work, we’re excited to be able to share these much-needed resources with them.”

The Future 50 company that tallies the most votes will also be named the “Future 50 Most Social Company.”

No matter which company earns that title, the competition offers the business community a new outlet to make a lasting impact on a deserving nonprofit, Meyer said.

“It’s more than just earning the title of 2013 Future50 Most Social Company,” Meyer said. “Our Future50 Winners are some of the most prosperous and successful companies in this region. This is a great way for BizTimes and all our Future 50 winners to give back to the nonprofit community – another, very vital, part of our region.”

Facebook users will be able to participate in the voting contest by visiting www.biztimes.com/f50social.

The winning nonprofit organization will be honored at the 2013 Future 50 Cocktail Reception on Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lakefront Brewery, located at 1872 N. Commerce St. in Milwaukee. All Future 50 companies will be recognized at the Future 50 Awards Luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Pfister Hotel, located at 424 E. Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Milwaukee. For more information about the luncheon, visit www.mmac.org.
