BizTimes Bubbler Executive of the Week: Dean LePoidevin

Dean LePoidevin, president of LePoidevin Marketing
Address: 245 S. Executive Drive, Suite 365, Brookfield
Website: www.LePoidevinMarketing.com
Industry: Advertising, public relations and marketing services
Employees: 12
Family: “Beautiful and supportive wife, Ruth. Successful sons Elliot, Alec and Zachary. Talented daughter-in-law, Lauren, and highly intelligent 18-month-old grandson, Jackson.”

What was the smartest thing LePoidevin Marketing did in the past year?
“Hire several young, energetic and highly talented associates to bolster our digital marketing expertise. Combined with our senior level professionals, we now have a much stronger and more experienced team to service our changing clients’ needs.”

What’s new at your company?
“We have enhanced our digital marketing, social media, content management and analytical skills to stay ahead of client demand. As our business marketing clients invest more in non-traditional forms of communication, we have been there to provide the strategies needed to help ensure measurable results.”

Do you plan to hire any additional staff or make any significant capital investments in your company in the next year?
“Our next move will be to add an account executive and additional creative team members. Hopefully in the next six months.”

What will be LePoidevin Marketing’s main challenges in the next year?
“Finding qualified talent to add to the team. It isn’t enough anymore to have the basic skills needed to program a website or write a marketing plan. Our team members have to possess the business and marketing insights that allow them to contribute ideas and recommendations on a global scale.”

How does LePoidevin Marketing distinguish itself from other marketing agencies in southeastern Wisconsin?
“We compete with agencies located throughout the United States in vertical industries in which we have experience. Our main points of differentiation are our depth of knowledge and skill in specific industries like animal health, medical, packaging and material handling. Very few agencies can match our broad range of capabilities in these industries.”

How do you define LePoidevin Marketing’s brand? How would you describe your corporate culture?
“Our people are our brand, and our clients have come to trust our counsel and creative approach to solving business challenges. We are a very tight team that enjoys the relationships we’ve forged here and with each of our clients. The culture is open, collaborative and free from politics. I’m very proud of this team and know our clients enjoy working with us. After all, it’s a people business, and clients want to work with smart, creative and fun people.”

How do you work with your clients to ensure their brand is truly unique?
“We help them define the very essence of their brand and what it means to their customers and prospects, then craft messages for each audience segment that quickly convey the benefits of that brand. Everything we create and execute for our clients serves to increase awareness and reinforce their brand promise, and drive product sales.”

What has fueled your company’s growth?
“Our focus on our clients’ businesses and the results we help deliver in the form of qualified leads, conversions and sales. We’ve resisted pushing the shiny new advertising gimmicks and held fast to our fully integrated approach. Our clients know we’ve got their back.”

Do you have a business mantra?
“Always be candid and truthful when working with clients, while continually striving to provide sound marketing counsel and smart, creative ideas that will advance their business. It appears to work, as several of our clients have been with us for many years.”

What was the best advice you ever received?
“To treat everyone – clients, associates and business partners – fairly and with respect.”
