BizTimes awards Fittest Execs

BizTimes Milwaukee announced the winners of the 2012 Fittest Execs competition Thursday night.

The finalists were honored at an awards program at the Potawatomi Bingo Casino, where the winners were announced. The finalists were selected based upon the results of biometric screenings and fitness tests.
The winners in their categories were:
Female 35-49
Tina Semotan, vice president of human resources and organizational development, Franklin Energy.
Female 50+
Mary Starr, executive vice president, The Starr Group.
Male 25-39
Michael Boehmer, director, Salus Corporate Wellness.
Male 40-49
Mike Neu, business manager, Chr. Hansen Inc.
Male 50+
Jason Koenitzer, vice president of marketing, Helwig Carbon Products, Inc.
Most Improved
Tom Bruseth, president, Warehouse Equipment Co.
Fitness Team
Froedtert Health: Andy Barth, Cathy Buck, Teri Lux and Karl Schultz.

The event also included a keynote presentation by Dr. Bob Gleeson, shared insights from his book, “What Healthy People Know.”
According to Gleeson, healthy people consistently make seven simple daily choices that promote their health. They know how to find good health in their own lives without a fad diet, special exercise gear or sacrifice. The healthiest of Americans enjoy 80 percent less heart disease, 80 percent less diabetes and 50 percent less cancer than everyone else, Gleeson said. They spend fewer health care dollars, are ill less often, recover faster and are more active for longer than others.
