The Milwaukee-area manufacturing index rose from 44.74 in November to 45.42 in December. However, a reading below 50 suggests the region’s manufacturing sector is contracting.

More than 5 million passengers were served at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport during the first 11 months of 2022, an increase of 23.3% over 2021.

Wisconsin’s labor force participation rate dropped to 64.9% in November.   

Wisconsin’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained unchanged at 3.3% in November. The number of homes sold in the four-county metro Milwaukee area were down 14.5% in 2022, compared to 2021.
