InSinkErator to be acquired by Whirlpool in $3 billion deal
Mount Pleasant-based InSinkErator, a manufacturer of food waste disposers and instant hot water dispensers for home and commercial use, has been acquired by Benton Harbor, Michigan-based home appliance manufacturer Whirlpool Corp. in a $3 billion all-cash transaction.

Kenosha-based SoFresh, Inc. has raised another $3.3 million that will be used to support the company as it ventures into new food markets. That’s according to an Aug. 2 SEC filing that shows SoFresh has raised a total of $5.6 million over its lifetime.
