AT&T Inc. today announced the availability of its mobile Internet network in Manitowoc, extending access for advanced mobile services, devices and feature-rich audio and video content to customers in the area.
The affected region includes the communities of Brillion, Cato, Chilton, Cleveland, Denmark, Hilbert, Manitowoc, Maribel, Mishicot, Newton, Reedsville, Stockbridge, Two Rivers, Valders and Whitelaw.
AT&T invested more than $1 billion in its Wisconsin wireless and wireline networks from 2008 through 2011 with a focus on improving the company’s mobile broadband coverage and overall performance of its networks.
“Access to better wireless networks not only improves the quality of life in our community, but it also opens up new possibilities for things like distance learning,” said State Rep. Andre Jacque (R – Bellevue). “Connecting our citizens and local businesses to opportunities around the world is a critical part of growing our economy and being successful in a global economy.”
“Our goal is for our customers to have an extraordinary experience. As part of the Manitowoc community, we’re always looking for new opportunities to provide enhanced coverage, and our investment in the local wireless network is just one way we’re accomplishing that,” said Dave Fine, AT&T’s vice president and general manager for Wisconsin and Illinois.
