Among the companies vying for most memorable commercial during Super Bowl 50 on Sunday will be one that’s familiar to Milwaukee area residents: Associated Bank.
The bank, which is based in Green Bay and has a major presence in the Milwaukee market, will broadcast its ad in Milwaukee, Green Bay, Eau Claire, Wausau, La Crosse, Madison and in the Minneapolis/St. Paul market.
Associated said the commercial will encourage viewers to challenge their banks’ customer service by poking fun at poor restaurant service. View a preview of the commercial below:

While the bank wouldn’t disclose the cost of running the ad during an expensive time slot like the Super Bowl, the investment was an efficient one for reaching a large number of consumers and launching a larger ad campaign, said Christopher Piotrowski, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Associated. A nationally broadcasted ad during the game costs about $5 million.
“When we chose to do this, we thought through a few different angles form a business strategy standpoint,” Piotrowski said. “This is the one time of year that you actually have one of the largest audiences” who are actively engaging with the advertisements.
“The season’s preeminent football game provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate the outstanding work of our customer care colleagues and demonstrates that Associated Bank provides a better banking experience,” said Christopher Piotrowski, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Associated. “The must-watch game allows us to join in the creative frenzy surrounding national TV ads with our innovative spot that reflects our commitment to quality customer experiences.”
