Nonprofit organization Milwaukee Film, which puts on the annual Milwaukee Film Festival, announced today it has received leading sponsorship funding from Associated Bank and United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County for this year’s festival.
Associated Bank is the “bank of the Milwaukee Film Festival” and has entered a multi-year leading sponsor agreement. The organizations would not disclose the monetary value of the agreement, but indicated it was between $50,000 and $100,000.
As part of the sponsorship, Associated Bank will help promote the festival and programming year-round to its colleagues, clients and friends.
“We are moving our banking relationship to Associated Bank and are excited by the deep engagement on our board of directors by its executive vice president John Utz,” said Jonathan Jackson, artistic and executive director at Milwaukee Film. “As an organization that cares deeply about our city, we’re proud to now bank with the largest Wisconsin-headquartered bank.”
“As the largest bank in Wisconsin and a long-standing supporter of the arts, we are proud to be the bank of the Milwaukee Film Festival to help further enrich the community,” said John Utz, executive vice president at Associated Bank. “It is an honor to be a Milwaukee Film board member and support this extraordinary showcase of cinema, education, and conversation.”
The festival, in its seventh year, has 95 sponsors this year, who have contributed a total of $2.4 million in cash, goods and services.
The United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County this year has significantly increased its level of sponsorship, also becoming a leading sponsor of the festival with a buy-in of between $50,000 and $100,000, in partnership with Glendale-based Johnson Controls Inc.

United Way’s mission is all about people working together to achieve common goals in our community,” said Brian McKaig, vice president of marketing and communications at United Way. “Partnering with Milwaukee Film is a great opportunity to educate people in our community about the ways they can come together to create lasting change.”
The Milwaukee Film Festival will be held from Sept. 24 to Oct. 8 at several theater venues in Milwaukee.
