The Milwaukee Art Museum has appointed David Russick as its new exhibition designer.
Russick brings an extensive background in art and design to the art museum and Milwaukee itself. Prior to his new position, Russick served as chief designer at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, playing a primary role in the museum’s re-installation and special exhibition designs. Preceding that role, he served as director and curator at the Herron Gallery at Indiana University’s Herron School of Art and Design. He launched his art career at Chicago’s Phyllis Kind Gallery and earned his master of fine arts degree at Northern Illinois University.
“My family and I have always loved Milwaukee,” Russick said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to designing so that visitors see and experience things anew at the museum, even things they have seen before. Great exhibition design can do that.”
Russick will take over for John Irion, who retired this summer.
