Milwaukee-based engineering firm GRAEF-USA Inc. recently showed off its new office headquarters to clients, associates and elected officials during a grand “reopening” event at The Avenue development in downtown Milwaukee.

In late 2019, GRAEF relocated its headquarters to a 35,000-square-foot space on the third floor of the former Grand Avenue Mall, having led the redevelopment of the second and third floors of the west Arcade building into 200,000 square feet of open-concept office space. That work was part of the larger $150 million Avenue project, which now includes 200 residential units, plush amenities and the 3rd Street Market Hall.

Moving in just months before the COVID-19 pandemic as the project’s anchor tenant, GRAEF’s plans to debut its newly designed office space had to be postponed. Two years later, the company celebrated with food, drinks and live music. Along with the festivities, funds were raised for the GRAEF Foundation, which supports the future of STEM-based careers, and to promote charitable endeavors related to engineering, planning and design. Proceeds from the evening will be donated to the ACE Mentor Program of Milwaukee.
