Ansay & Associates raises $10.5 million

Port Washington-based insurance company Ansay & Associates has raised $10.5 million according to a recent filing the company submitted to the SEC.

Ansay is a regional property and casualty insurance and benefit solutions agency with offices in Port Washington, Cedarburg, Burlington, West Bend, Marshfield, Mosinee, Manitowoc, Madison, Appleton, Green Bay and Stevens Point. The company says it manages the insurance and risk needs of over 5,000 business, non-profit, and governmental clients in Wisconsin and the Midwest.

The company did not respond to several requests for comment on what they plan to do with the funds.

Ansay has acquired several other firms over the last 25 years. Since 1995, Ansay has acquired 17 insurance agencies and combined with one other insurance agency, according to the company’s website. Since 2015, the company has acquired Koehler Insurance Agency, Disher Insurance Services, Servant Insurance, Thomas Insurance Group, Wotja Hansen Insurance Agency and Indianhead Insurance Agency.

On Oct. 24, the company announced “advancements” to its new digital agency platform. Advancements to Ansay’s digital agency platform includes several underwriting improvements as well as a dashboard with better submission status and navigation capabilities. The updated version also includes benefits to underwriters’ side, allowing submission to be managed more efficiently, the ability to send email quotes and new data to more accurately predict a conversion rate, according to a company blog post.

The company touts itself as an early adopter of the Internet of Insurance, which is a network of agents, carriers and technology companies “who are dedicated to driving the insurance company forward,” according to the Internet of Insurance website.
