Aloft and Pfister make TripAdvisor.com lists

Two downtown Milwaukee hotels recently made a couple of best-of lists on TripAdvisor.com.

The 160-room Aloft Hotel at 1230 N. Old World Third St. was listed No. 8 on TripAdvisor’s top 25 list of “trendiest hotels in the United States.”

The 307-room Pfister Hotel at 424 E. Wisconsin Ave. was listed No. 13 on TripAdvisor’s top 25 list of the top luxury hotels in the U.S.

The TripAdvisor.com rankings are based on millions of reviews and opinions from travelers around the world. The lists were part of TripAdvisor’s 10th annual Travelers’ Choice Awards.

The downtown Milwaukee Aloft Hotel, one of 43 Aloft hotels in the U.S., opened in 2009 along the Milwaukee River. It ranked ahead of hotels such as the Hilton New York Fashion District hotel (15) and the W Hotel in San Francisco (24) on the TripAdvisor trendiest hotels list.

Built in 1893, the Pfister Hotel is owned by Milwaukee-based The Marcus Corp. It ranked ahead of hotels such as the Four Seasons Resort Maui (16), Wynn Las Vegas (17), Bellagio Las Vegas (22) and the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago (24) on the TripAdvisor top luxury hotel list.
