Allcast undergoing $14 million expansion in Washington County

Allcast LLC, a custom aluminum die-casting manufacturer, is undertaking a $14 million expansion of its facility in Washington County—a project expected to create 88 new jobs.

The company is adding a 29,000-square-foot addition to its current facility in the Town of Addison as it expands its casting capabilities to meet increased customer demand. Construction of the first phase, a 14,420-square-foot expansion of the company’s foundry, is expected to be completed by October.

“We are very excited to be able to continue to grow and expand our operations here in Washington County,” said Mark Magnarini, Allcast president and chief executive officer. “Wisconsin has always had a rich history in manufacturing, including tool and die and high-pressure die-casting, which has allowed Allcast to develop a very talented and dedicated team of people here.  When we assessed our options for expansion in other geographic locations, it was the combination of our team of people and the tremendous support we received from the state, county and local resources that provided us with a clear competitive advantage to expand here at home in Wisconsin.”

“I congratulate Allcast for deciding to expand in Washington County and I applaud the company for its continued commitment to growing in Wisconsin,” said Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, who joined company and local officials in announcing the expansion Friday. “Allcast looked at other options before deciding to expand here, and its decision to choose Wisconsin is a testament to the state’s educated and ethical workforce and pro-business climate.”

To help facilitate the project, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation has authorized Allcast to receive up to $350,000 in state tax credits over a four-year period. The actual amount of credits the company will earn is contingent upon the company meeting specific job creation and wage level requirements.

“WEDC is pleased to play a key role in supporting Allcast with this expansion, which is good news for Washington County and the entire region,” said Reed Hall, secretary and CEO of WEDC, the state’s lead economic development organization. “WEDC also assisted Allcast when it added additional die cast capabilities in 2012, which enabled the company to expand into some new markets. This latest project is a continuation of Allcast’s ongoing success.”

“This expansion and the quality jobs Allcast creates for Allenton and surrounding area residents reinforce why Economic Development Washington County (EDWC) strategically focuses on existing growth companies,” said Christian Tscheschlok, EDWC executive director.  “We were impressed with Allcast’s keen understanding of what drives their growth and profitability, so we focused our efforts on generating custom comparative information to support their decision-making and ultimately forge a compelling economic case for expansion in Washington County.”

“We’re delighted that Allcast is expanding again in southeastern Wisconsin,” said Gale Klappa, co-chair of M7, and chairman and CEO of WEC Energy Group. “The continued growth of Allcast here and the company’s significant investment underlie the strong assets that make our region a premiere manufacturing hub. The economic prosperity of our region depends on the job growth and business success of small- and mid-sized manufacturers like Allcast.”

“Allcast’s expansion is great news for the Town of Addison, Washington County and the 20th Senate District,” said State Sen. Duey Stroebel, who attended Friday’s announcement. “Allcast’s decision to expand again in Wisconsin indicates the state’s positive business environment and commitment to providing an educated workforce.”

Founded in 1973, Allcast manufactures a variety of highly engineered precision aluminum tooling and die services, including casting capabilities ranging from 400 to 1,800 tons, CNC machining, drilling, tapping, grinding, turning, heat-treating, deburring and finishing. Allcast serves numerous blue-chip companies in the lighting, automotive and transportation, recreational vehicle, consumer goods and equipment, and industrial markets.
