A month after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, San Diego-based Charlotte Russe is going out of business.
The retailer on Thursday announced it will close the remaining 416 stores throughout 44 states and Puerto Rico, with liquidation sales beginning the same day. Its online store has also closed, according to a message posted on its website.
This wave of closures includes Charlotte Russe locations at Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa, Southridge Mall in Greendale and Regency Mall in Racine, joining locations at Bayshore Town Center in Glendale and at Brookfield Square, which were part of an earlier wave announced in February.
Gift cards for Charlotte Russe stores are valid until March 21, 2019.
Retail liquidation firm SB360 Capital Partners has purchased the company’s assets. Intellectual property and rights to its leases will be sold separately, according to the announcement.
Other struggling retail chains that have announced or executed local and national store closures in recent months include Payless ShoeSource and Shopko.
